In 2022, marking the 40th anniversary of the Air Force 1, Louis Vuitton and Nike released the “Air Force 1” collection by Virgil Abloh. Abloh designed 47 bespoke pairs for the Spring-Summer 2022 show, using premium materials from his Louis Vuitton menswear collections and his signature quotation mark details. All pairs were handcrafted at Louis Vuitton’s atelier in Fiesso d’Artico. The first 200 pairs were auctioned via Sotheby’s in January, followed by a general release of nine more styles in June.
